    McClatchy in talks to make deal for bid on Tronc
    Oct. 3, 2018 | McClatchy is in talks with its largest creditor on a debt-for-equity swap that would allow the publisher to make a bid for Tronc… If McClatchy, which owns the Miami Herald, the Kansas City Star, the Sacramento Bee and 27 other smaller daily papers, succeeds in buying Tronc, the owner of the Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun and The Daily News, it would challenge USA Today owner Gannett to be the biggest newspaper chain in the country… NY Post
