    Apr. 9, 1917
    The United States Supreme Court ruled in Bunting v. Oregon, upholding Oregon’s 1913 state law that prescribed a ten-hour workday for both men and women and the state’s requirement that businesses in the state pay time-and-a-half for overtime up to three hours a day. The case was one of the first that upheld wage regulations in addition to hours regulations.

    Senate success against fast track push! *
    May 13, 2015 | Senate Democrats took a stand today against efforts to ram fast track trade authority through the chamber, denying an effort to move forward with consideration of the legislation. The vote further delays big business' desire to pass fast track and raises serious doubts about the future of the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).     May 29, 2015 | When Daniel J. Tobin was inducted in the Labor Hall of Fame sat week, few modern Americans had any idea who he was. This is understandable, as Tobin, who died in 1955, retired uneventfully from the Teamsters union more than 60 years ago.
